Object ID numbers and page URLs
ID numbers
In Saurus CMS each content object has a unique ID number. These numbers are generated automatically and normally you do not have to think about them during daily content management.
New ID-s are created and assigned as you create new objects. The ID-s identify the object, its type and the site language it belongs.
Page URLs
Most page addresses (URLs) in Saurus CMS are in format of ?id=123 e.g. sitename.com/?id=567 which defines the active object displayed in the site content area. If the ID belongs to a section object, its contents is displayed using page- and content templates attached to it. If the ID belongs to any other object type, the object template defined by site developer is used.
Aliases feature in Saurus CMS allows you to use “static” URLs such as sitename.com/news or sitename.com/1234.
