What's the difference between Saurus and Saurus CMS?
Saurus (Saurused Ltd) is company developing Saurus CMS. But since it's our only product, we sometimes tend to refer to the product as well as "Saurus".
How much does Saurus CMS cost?
We do not charge any license fees for Saurus CMS CE (Community Edition) which is free, open source and licensed under Mozilla Public License 1.1. This means you can freely use, distribute and sell it. You can also add modifications with condition that these modifications are published under the same license. Also, you can embed it to bigger projects which can use other licenses.
The cost for Enterprise Edition depends on the service level agreement (SLA).
What is Enterprise Edition?
Enterprise Edition is commercial version of the same product which is sold as annual service level agreement (SLA) covering support and commercial warranty. The pricing for SLA depends on the service volume, time and number of sites covered.
Although the functionality is comparable to Community Edition, the Enterprise Edition features code thoroughly tested by Saurus and much more conservative release cycle.
What do I need to run Saurus CMS?
Saurus CMS runs on LAMP environments: you need a web server with PHP, MySQL and Apache installed. For friendly URLs, you also need the Apache mod_rewrite module. Please see the system requirements for more details.
Can I run multiple sites within one installation?
Yes, we have sites running several hundred websites within one instance of Saurus CMS.
Can I develop sites on my own?
Sure! You need be be familiar with HMTL and some JavaScript. Please refer to our Site development pages to get started.
Does Saurus provide web development services?
We offer range of services related to Saurus CMS: training, consultation, installation, upgrade. Also, we can develop new functionality or extensions for you. As we do not develop websites, we suggest trying out our development partners.
Does Saurus provide web hosting?
No. You can install the software on your own server or use an ISP service or use one of our hosting partners.
