Known bugs and features

Known problems in beta version 1.1:

  • It's difficult to use converter in case the developer doesn't have shell access to the webserver, having FTP and phpMyAdmin access only. README instructions should include that case as well.
  • Error messages are displayed only on the screen being hard to track. Converter should display error summary and save errors into log file.
  • It will be more convenient and time-saving to have 4.2.1 full installation package, currently 4.2.0 full package + 4.2.1 update must be used.

Known bugs in beta version 1.1:
  • Site Encoding Converter: system tables (eg users) are not included in encoding conversion.
  • Site Encoding Converter: glossary is in the wrong encoding after conversion process.
  • Converter 3 to 4: system articles are transferred even if they are missing entirely, causing deletion of correct ver4 system articles.
  • Converter 3 to 4: automatic replacement "failid/" => "public/" doesn't fork for link objects.
  • Converter 3 to 4: Last step doesn't delete external tables - with prefix "ext_*".
  • Converter 3 to 4: Custom Metadata check and warnings are missing (Metadata is deperecated in ver4)
  • Converter 3 to 4: Saurus API tag check returns incorrect results sometimes.
