Saurus CMS 4 for Site Administrator
Site administrator’s environment in Saurus CMS web content management system is separated from content editor’s interface, so that both can focus on their specific tasks.
User management
User manager allows to administer hierarchical user groups, user information and login accounts. Since the account is optional, user manager can be used as a simple contact management tool. Data profiles allows to extend the user description fields: for example you can define direct phone number and birthday for company employers or set sales discount for client’s representative. Self-registration form can be used in site public view. CSV export allows importing users information into 3rd party application such as MS Excel.

Access control (ACL)
User permissions to view, create, modify, delete or publish content and use site administration tools can be set for individual users or user groups. In addition, you can also create user roles to set permissions for multiple persons in different groups. The permissions can be set in the section editor popup. Additionally there is a tool for administrators to manage and get an overview of the permissions through the whole site.

Multi-lingual capabilities
Websites running on Saurus CMS may have content in multiple, independent languages. The software user interface and system notifications are available in English and Estonian in the initial installation. Additional language packages can be downloaded from Saurus website.
Site log
System log keeps track of every action made by site editors and administrators. User logins, login attempts, system events such as scheduled publishing, XML import and error messages are logged as well.
Page compression
Web pages are sent to user browser in compressed format that makes displaying long pages significantly faster. The compression uses GZip algorithm.
Site cache
Normally it takes multiple database queries to render one site page. The cache module in Saurus CMS creates "snapshots" of dynamic pages allowing to save whole page under one query. Using cache speeds up page displays up to 100 times. It also reduces server load radically.
IP-filter
For advanced security, you may block access to the entire site or to the editing environment using IP-addresses or ranges. IP-filter also allows setting up mandatory user authentication when a company intranet is accessed from outside the local network.
