Saurus CMS 4 for Content Editor

The environment for daily web publisher is easy to learn and use. You will find WYSIWYG text processor, onsite editing, central file manager and more:

Onsite editing
The editor’s view and site public interface are identical, so both editors and visitors see the same output and navigate the same way on the page. In addition, the editor has v-shaped action buttons attached to all content objects such as sections, articles, documents, images and links. The editor also sees unpublished items that are not visible to public users.

Managing structure
Website hierarchy is a tree-like structure of sections that normally appear as menu items on the site layout. Editors can specify various options when creating a new section, including page- and content templates. The content template specifies the application to be used in the site content area - article list, news with archive, image gallery, forum etc. Although the product ships with most common content templates, custom site-specific templates can be developed using Saurus API. Page template defines the site layout and design and can be changed per-section when needed. There are no limits to the depth of the site structure or the number of menu items.

File manager
Central file management tool allows you to explore and handle the files, documents and images in server folders. User access permissions for folders can be set based on individual user, user group or role. Files can be uploaded via web browser using Saurus CMS or by any 3rd party application/protocol such as FTP, WebDAV or Samba. Each content editor can add any folder or file to her/his list of favourites for quick access. Data profiles allow to extend the file descriptive data fields: e.g. add signature date and parties to contracts or category and author to photos.
File manager opens from text editor for inserting images and hyperlinks to files but can also be used as a standalone tool.
